We’re a husband-and-wife duo capturing life’s real, tender moments—from belly laughs to baby snuggles. With our little one in tow, we bring warmth, calm, and care to every session. Whether you're celebrating your love or growing your family, we’re honored to help tell your story.


What do we mean by "lifestyle"?

Lifestyle photography captures real, natural moments with a bit of creative direction. Comparatively, portrait photography focuses on posed and polished images of people that are usually taken in a studio. If portrait photography is on one end of a spectrum, documentary is on the other end. Documentary photography is completely candid and observational, with no direction from the photographer. Our style, lifestyle, sits midway between portrait and documentary.

 

Brenton & Heidi

Based in Oakland.

We fell in love while traveling the world together—literally. In 2019, we met through a work-travel program that took us to 12 countries in 12 months. By month three, we caught feelings. By month eight, Brenton picked up Heidi’s camera and fell for his second love: photography. Since then, he’s spent years honing his craft behind the lens, while Heidi brings the creative direction—scouting locations, guiding poses, and shaping the story of each session.

Photography started as a way to capture our own memories. Now, it’s how we help others hold onto theirs.

We’re a true family business—which means our daughter tags along for most sessions, nestled in a baby carrier with Mom. For most sessions  (excluding newborn sessions), you’ll often see us working as a team: Brenton behind the lens and Heidi assisting with direction, angles, and second shooting—when baby is content. If she needs a break, Heidi may step aside briefly so your session can continue without pause.

We know this setup is a little different, but it reflects who we are: present, flexible, and grounded in family. Most clients find it adds warmth to the experience (and gets a few bonus smiles from their kids, too).


Giving Back

Ten percent of our profits are donated to nonprofits supporting mothers and children in conflict zones. We also donate one maternity session a year to a local community member. Nominate a deserving woman via our contact form!
